Haiti

Many years ago, when Vaugelas Pierre passed by LaCroix, he wondered about the existence of the people of that community-how they lived, what they ate, what they drank, and how they survived. God challenged him with this verse: "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the Harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest field." (Matt. 9:37-38)

It has been the vision and dream of Pastor Pierre to make a better life for the people of Haiti. Since being called to serve in the Lord's harvest field at LaCroix near the end of 1975, God has made it clear to Pierre that He wanted a school for children whose parents couldn't afford to send them. Since that time, he has seen the schools grow from less than 200 children to over 1,800 by Miraculous Provision!

As administrator and overseer of the five schools, five churches, and a medical in the LaCroix area, his ongoing burden for the people of the community is many faceted:

Africa

Rev. Geoffrey Njuguna is the pastor of Deliverance Church Langata, just outside of Nairobi, Kenya, in East Africa. He and his family planted this church in 1993; and from that time until now, the church has experienced tremendous growth with several hundred people attending the Sunday services.

The church is located on a one-and-a-half-acre piece of property beside the main road coming out of Nairobi. It is an excellent location. About eight years ago, a tent was erected on this property; and from that time until now, the church has met in the tent. Several additions have been added on to the tent due to growth, along with small, temporary buildings being constructed.

The church broke ground for their new church and worship center. Construction has progressed very well, especially considering the limited funds available to this local congregation.

HCC has supported the Njuguna family for the past 15 years. Pastor Njuguna graduated from the Central Bible College in Springfield, MO with a bachelor’s degree in theology.
